Katia Jesson Photography My Story Photography has been an interest of mine every since I was a child, a hobby I shared with my father. I still remember my first 110 film camera that was later replaced by the rangefinder camera that belonged to my father. I was the one at every family event who insisted on getting the group shots despite all the grumbling that came with it (yes they all wanted copies later.) When I was 16, I purchased my first 35mm camera. As I grew older, I my photography shifted from people to landscapes. Then I had my first child and it all changed again. I discovered digital photography and fell in love with capturing the mercurial expressions of children and their interaction with their families and friends. The digital format gave me the freedom to shoot more freely and the instant feedback to tell me if I had been fast enough to capture my restless and ever moving subjects. MyMy husband has not stopped being reluctant about taking our family photos, but I remind him when we are old and the children are gone, that we will pour over those photographs with nostalgia and tears as we remember the wonderful times that we shared with our children, our families and our friends. We will also have given our children a precious gift - beautiful memories - ones that will happen but once. Who doesn't enjoy pouring over old family photos? They tell us the story of who we are and how we got there. Everyone has cameras now and takes lots of snapshots, but how many of them are timeless treasures- photos we want to frame on a mantle, use on a photobook cover or display on a bag? I don't have a studio and have recently located to a lovely area south of Charlotte, North Carolina, so you get to pick your favorite spot - your home, the park or local pond (as long as it is somewhere I can shoot legally). Be creative! I keep the children moving and interactive so they don't "zone out" or turn "cheesy" like they often do it static studio situtions. Pick a location meaningful to you or let me suggest one. Have an special event such as a family reunion, a special birthday, an anniversary? I will be sure you have photos to treasure in a beautifull fully bound book. I also offer slideshows and albums that will be keepsakes the whole family will treasure.
